To study in Turkey from Pakistan, you need a student visa. You apply at the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad or a Turkish consulate once you have your acceptance letter. A complete file makes your Turkey student visa from Pakistan quick and simple.

After you register at your university, you apply online for a student residence permit through e-İkamet. You do this within your visa’s validity. Your permit stays valid only while you are an active student.

Work rights depend on your level. Bachelor’s students can work part-time after their first year, up to 24 hours a week, with a work permit. Master’s and PhD students can apply for a work permit from day one.

The cost of studying in Turkey is among the lowest of any study destination. Most students spend US$400–700 a month. Istanbul costs more. Ankara, Izmir and Konya cost less.

Prices change fast because of inflation. That is why many private universities set their fees in US dollars or euros. Most also offer partial scholarships to strong students.

Monthly cost Typical range (USD)
Rent (dormitory or shared flat) 150–400
Food and groceries 120–200
Transport (student card) 15–30
Phone, internet and personal 40–80

Key Facts

  • Tuition: public universities are low-cost. Private universities range from about US$3,000 to over US$20,000 a year.
  • University scholarships: many private universities give 25–100% tuition scholarships for good grades.
  • Food: eating out is cheap, and campus meals are subsidised.

Türkiye Burslari 2027: this government scholarship covers tuition, a monthly stipend, housing, health insurance, flights and a one-year Turkish course. Applications usually run from about 10 January to 20 February. Age limits apply: under 21 for bachelor’s, under 30 for master’s and under 35 for PhD.

Türkiye has two intakes. September is the main one. February is smaller. Public universities often require an entrance exam (YÖS or SAT). Private universities usually admit you on grades alone, which is faster.

Intake Course start Typical application window
September (main) September–October March to August (direct entry); about 10 January–20 February (Türkiye Burslari)
