Study in Ireland
To study in Ireland from Pakistan, you need a long-stay (D) study visa. You apply online once you have an offer for an approved full-time course. Your course must be on Ireland’s list of eligible programmes.
Ireland checks money closely. For an Ireland student visa from Pakistan, your bank statements must show a clear source and a steady history. After you arrive, you register for your Irish Residence Permit, which shows your Stamp 2.
Stamp 2 work rights let you work 20 hours a week in term and 40 hours a week in holidays. After you graduate, Stamp 1G post-study work lets you work full-time with no extra permit.

Third Level Graduate Programme
The cost of studying in Ireland covers tuition, living costs and insurance. Ireland asks you to show €10,000 a year for living costs. Dublin’s rents push many students above that. Cork, Galway and Limerick cost less and have excellent universities.
Part-time work under Stamp 2 helps with daily costs. Ireland’s minimum wage is one of the highest in Europe.
| Monthly cost | Outside Dublin (EUR) | Dublin (EUR) |
| Rent (shared room) | 500–800 | 800–1,300 |
| Food and groceries | 200–300 | 250–350 |
| Transport | 50–90 | 60–110 |
| Phone, internet and personal | 80–150 | 100–180 |
Key Facts
- Tuition: about €15,000–30,000 a year for most bachelor’s and master’s.
- One-year master’s: most taught master’s last 12 months.
- Housing: book early, especially in Dublin.
- Part-time income: useful, but it can’t replace your €10,000 funds.
Government of Ireland scholarship: the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship gives a €10,000 stipend and a full fee waiver for one year of master’s or PhD study. Check current eligibility. Irish universities also offer merit awards, often €2,000–5,000.
Ireland’s main intake is September. A smaller January intake runs for some postgraduate courses. For the Ireland September intake 2027, apply from November 2026. Popular courses like computer science, data analytics and business fill early.
| Intake | Course start | Typical application window |
| September (main) | September | November to June (earlier for popular courses) |
| January (limited) | January–February | July to October |
